Bug Out Bag Essentials You DON'T Want to Miss

That's right - there are some bug out bag essentials that you will NOT want to forget to add to your emergency pack.
If you had only minutes to grab whatever you could before you flee your home, and you don't have a bug out bag prepared ahead of time, there is no way you will be able to grab all the stuff you will need to survive for a few days.
It can happen in the middle of the night - by a fire, an earthquake, hurricane... streets closed off... power supply gone... neighbors in need....
And if you are a survivalist, you will not be caught off guard.
(In fact, here is a page we have added on preparing a Bug Out Vehicle...)
Here is a page on ==>> READY TO BUY Bug Out Kits
We have a variety of pages on survival kits to make on your own which are listed at the bottom of this page, but here are a few bug out bag essentials that are a MUST to have in ANY survival kit you plan to prepare.
Sturdy backpack...one with various outer pockets and straps is very nice, but sturdiness is the key point here.
Some food rations... a few high protein type bars or Mountain House food rations.
Multi-tool... even though you may have a knife, which to me is MORE important than the tool in your pack, a good Gerber or Leatherman tool is a huge asset.
Knife ... as I mentioned earlier, a good knife is a MUST HAVE and we have some good survival knife info here for you to look at.
Flashlight... a hand crank flashlight works a regular flashlight is better, especially if you happen to have a solar backpack where you can keep the batteries charged.
Emergency blankets... something like a mylar blanket is great as it is lightweight and really holds in the body heat when you get caught in cold weather.
Firestarter... the magnesium firestarters are a great way to have some way to start a fire that is GUARANTEED to work, unlike matches that may get wet or a lighter than may evaporate on you.
First aid kit .. here is a list of ==>> first aid supplies to make your own first aid kit.
Camping size Cookware... these are available at most army navy stores and oh so handy when you need to heat water, or cook small meals while on the run.
There are many other items to add to a your pack but these bug out bag essentials will get you started!
