Gardening When It Counts.....Growing Food For Survival in Hard Times
Gardening is Always a Good Thing!
Steve Solomon, the author of the "Gardening When it Counts" book has an interesting and captivating way of explaining all about backyard gardening, how to grow veggies when times are tough, what to do with the soil and what seeds to use. These are just among a FEW of the topics he covers in his book.
Gardening is NEVER a bad idea and if you live in an area where you can grow anything, even if you don't plant a garden this year, it is always a GOOD idea to have some survival seeds on hand, just in case.

Gardening When It Counts: Growing Food in Hard Times (Mother Earth News Wiser Living Series) is a great addition for any survival gardener or actually for ANY gardener...
Gardening when it counts is simply a must-have resource for folks that are trying to create a food storage plan on a frugal budget.
Especially if you have ANY kind of a spot to grow some veggies at.... like flower beds around the house, small garden spot, or BIG garden spot!, container gardening, or... you can even grow amazing plants inside old tires.
Some of the best tomatoe plants I ever grew were grown inside old car tires.
Because of the cold nights here in the NW, the black rubber on the tires absorbs heat during the day and releases it at night, keeping the plants warmer.
TIP for Using Old Tires: Place tire on TOP of the ground. Do NOT fill the tire with dirt. The lip inside the tire will catch water and will cause a hydroponic effect as well, making it even better!
I personally, because of budget and expense, prefer to use regular non hybrid seeds to grow in a garden and store my survival seeds for use later, when I know I will need it..
Click here for Survival Seed Bank ... they have a really neat survival seed packet that will grow a WHOLE ACRE of garden and the seeds are stored in a case that will last for YEARS until you are ready to use it.
However, there are folks that have grown all their veggies for years using only hybrid and heirloom varieties, by saving seeds every fall.
Gardening when it counts and when times are tough will not only help with food storage but also with your grocery bill NOW!
