Hurricane Survival Guide for After the Storm

Is there a way to have a simple hurricane survival guide, especially to help with the aftermath of a storm?



Every year there are people that lose their homes and belongings to hurricanes...homes are devastated and lives are turned upside down.



There are hurricane guides available at various online sites,so what we are focusing on here is what to be prepared for AFTER the storm.




If it so happens that you are still IN your home when the alarm sounds, you may be better off staying put and that won't be so bad if you are prepared.



Having enough food, water, and survival supplies to last a few days will be of tremendous value while you are waiting for help, or for the power to come back, or even to take with you as you leave the area...



One of the best habits to get into if you live in hurricane area, is to always drive with your gas tank at least half full of fuel.



Just pretend the half-way mark is the empty mark, if you are one of the people that habitually drives on empty. =)


But seriously, though, you really need to have at least a 72 hour kit for each member in the house and if you want to make your own, click here for tips on making your own hurricane survival kit or 72 hour kit.



The easiest way to get supplies together is to simply buy a basic survival kit and there are several places you can get good ones.



Just make sure they are not a cheap kit that won't hold p for you. Actually here are some tips on finding a good quality survival kit.
