Survival Knife

by anonymous

Survival knives are used to set traps, cut branches and skin animals.

They usually have a blade length of 4 to 6 inches. It is never made thin and weak as often life may depend on it. Its weight is reduced by introducing folding type blade and hollow handle.

A serrated knife with appreciable length would be ideal for air crewmen to cut through metal skin of crashed airplanes and find a way out of forest.

Some of the best survival knives have a disadvantage if small blade length although they have saw teeth.

Hollow handles can be used to store useful things but small things appropriate for a journey. Serrations can also be used as wood slicer or fish scaler.
