Survival Rifles...
How Do I Know Which One I Need?

survival-rifles

When we are looking at survival rifles, especially if we are wanting to tuck one into an emergency kit or strap on top of a wilderness pack for survival in the wilderness, we need to know what it is we are needing it for, if possible.

For instance there are rifles, like the Henry AR7 Survival Rifle that is perfect for your pack as it breaks down into several pieces without any tools and once it is all broken down it is only about 16 inches long.... perfect for tucking into a survival kit.

Another great packing rifle is the Marlin Papoose or also the Browning Semi-Auto .22 is among top favorites...

This type of rifle is perfect if you do not intend to use your weapon a whole lot, but are wanting to have it just in case you need to protect yourself or your family, or need to pop off a rabbit or squirrel for food. Or my favorite wilderness food... grouse breast.... ummm!

And then there are other bigger rifles that many folks like to use as a survival firearms, when they may face the greater dangers of animals, such as grizzlies, mama moose, mountain lions, etc. all of which we have here in our area...

Locals here like to carry hand guns when hiking or camping in the wilderness, as they are smaller and easier to stick into a pack or clip onto your belt...and ALL of them carry survival knives with them.

Regardless WHAT type of survival weapon you choose, please do yourself (and everyone else) a favor.. and educate yourself on the proper handling of any firearms.

For those of you that are into martial law stuff, visit our Survive Martial Law page for some interesting reading

With time we want to list more rifles and pros and cons of each here. In the meantime, make sure your choice of survival weapon will do what you are anticipating it to...don't get caught eyeball to eyeball with something your gun can not handle!
