Swine Flu Outbreak - What to Do If it Happens
The following information is about the Swine Flu outbreak ...I am posting a short report here for the sake of our readers...and although I am not convinced myself that it may not be more of a scare than an actual threat, the fact remains that whole cities can be shut down for days on account of ONE swine flu case.
For that reason, we highly recommend having an emergency preparedness plan in place for your own safety and comfort, should anything like that happen...
Okay - here is the report...
The United States Government is urging businesses and families to prepare now for a possible Swine Flu Pandemic Influenza outbreak.
They issued guidelines for families and individuals to prepare for this possibility. Their recommendations include a section about stocking a variety of items (such as hand sanitizers, hospital grade particulate breathing masks, emergency food reserves, water reserves, latex/nitrile gloves, disinfectants, etc.) for “an extended stay at home.”
When an outbreak occurs, city areas may be quarantined for several weeks.
According to the New Yorker Magazine, a pandemic is the viral equivalent of a perfect storm. There are three essential conditions, which rarely converge, and they are impossible to predict. But the requirements are clear.
A new flu virus must emerge from the animal reservoirs that have always produced and harbored such viruses—one that has never infected human beings and therefore one to which no person would have antibodies.
Second, the virus has to actually make humans sick. (Most don’t.)
Finally, it must be able to spread efficiently—through coughing, sneezing, or a handshake.
For the Swine Flue, H5N1, and the avian Flu virus, the first two conditions have been met; they say it’s new and it may be deadly.

During a pandemic, as in the event of most disasters, these very important items to protect you and your family may be difficult or simply impossible to obtain. They highly recommend aquiring these items NOW before panic buying occurs and the "breakout" announcement is made on the 6 o'clock News.
Civilian and government supplies are always "just-in-time" and met to handle 'normal' health care and minor emergency demands. When panic hits, as we saw with Hurricane Katrina & Rita, remaining reserves are immediately wiped out.
If there is an Outbreak or even just a scare of one, such as in the case of the swine flu 1976 scare, The DEMAND FOR EMERGENCY SUPPLIES WILL BE HUGE...and it may not hurt to be prepared.

What are the Symptoms of Swine Flu?
Symptoms of swine & avian influenza in humans have ranged from typical human influenza-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, and muscle aches) to eye infections, pneumonia, severe respiratory diseases (such as acute respiratory distress syndrome), and other severe and life-threatening complications.
The symptoms of avian influenza may depend on which specific virus subtype and strain caused the infection.
