It’s Actually Not a Bad Idea to Purchase a Kit
Some folks would rather BUY a ready made bug out kit than make their own.
It actually might be cheaper in the long run to buy a kit, than trying to FIND everything you need to put INTO your own survival kit.
Or at least more convenient and less hassle.
This is especially true if you are only looking for a small 72 hour deal to keep in your car for instance.
If you are wanting to pack a bag that you can sling over your shoulder and head to the mountains, then you need to do some careful planning as to know what all to stick in it!
Actually, I HIGHLY recommend going on an overnighter in preparation for that kind of bailing out.
What is NOT okay is to not have ANY kind of Bugout Kit or Bag READY.
There are some great options available in ready to go kits, as well as companies that help you fill your own bug out bag with whatever supplies you choose.
For instance, here is a company that has a great list of individual supplies for bug out bags Get individual BOB items here. ( and we added some great ready to buy packs listed below, too)
Ready To Buy Kits
Although it is handy to be able to customize your own kit, it can take awhile to find everything for it, and rather than not have ANYTHING, I would say it is better to just purchase a ready made one.
Here are a few popular and highly recommended ready to buy kits, that you may want to check out.
With many of those pre prepared kits such as the one pictured below, you also get a BACKPACK along with a ton of emergency preparedness supplies…the one below in the picture has enough for 5 people to survive for 72 hours.
And then here are a few that we have added for your convenience, or you can just use the list to know what to get for your own packs.
